Fully-Integrated LIFE: How Grace Works
(part two)

“…For the grace of God has appeared,
…instructing us…”
(Titus 2:11)

The Scripture says that “grace instructs us” – “grace teaches us!”

INSTRUCTS
This word “instruct” (paideuo) is often used referring to child-training and all that goes with it: teaching, training, discipling, educating and nurturing. God wants to train His children from the inside-out.

Jesus is grace personified (for the Grace of God appeared…). The Holy Spirit is the working of Grace personified inside of us. In his devotional book, My Utmost for His Highest, Oswald Chambers says:

“The Spirit of God does in me internally all that Jesus Christ did for me externally.” (see the devotional for November 29th)

Let’s look some of the ways the indwelling Holy Spirit trains God’s children:

· He abides in you…teaching you about all things (I Jn 2:27)
· He will guide you into all truth (Jn 16:13)

Learning and growing, as a Christian, is not something we accomplish on our own. We never graduate or cover all the material! The training comes in your daily walk and your Heavenly Father knows exactly what you need, every day.

The Scripture says:

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
(I Cor 2:12-14)

If you have been born of the Spirit, by the working of God’s Grace, you have a teacher in your heart. He turns on the light and teaches you about the character of God and the choices you must make in your walk with Him.

That’s how Grace works…

Father,
Thank You for living Resurrection Life in my heart. Teach me Your ways; lead me in Your truth and teach me.
I listen for Your voice as You lead me in the daily choices of saying NO to the ways of this world so that I can say YES to the working of Your Grace.

In Jesus’ Name, by the working of Your grace, I seek You, Amen.
